Ad Banners For Ecommerce Websites

Don't expect people to root out any special deals themselves show them the way with a cool animated banner.

While not as unpopular as pop-ups or spam, banner ads are still classed by many Net users as nothing more than an irritation that they must put up with. Most people are very wary of clicking on any banner ad, but why is this the case? Well, this is all down to the way in which many banners are used - most are called in from external sites to advertise a third party product and gain the Webmaster in question a few extra bob in the process.

The advertised products aren't always particularly relevant, and are often nothing more than unsubtle ploys to hook you onto the site in any way possible. Look at a site like Amazon, Boots and NME, however, and you'll see how banner ads can be incorporated onto your site in a way that not only benefits you, but makes your visitors' lives that little bit easier. These sites all contain banners for special offers within their own site, drawing attention to an offer the visitor is likely to be attracted to - after all, they must be on the site for a reason.

There are many sites that show you how to create an animated banner for your ecommerce website in Fireworks MX 2004. While many of you might be used to Photoshop, Fireworks offers more in the way of Web-specific features, allowing you to create frame-based animations without having to open additional tools. Fireworks also has a good selection of drawing and editing tools that make it very easy to generate the look you're after. We're going to create something that will stand out on the page, but won't tarnish our site. Open up Fireworks, and let's get ready to create our banner.
