Avoiding Black Hat SEO Tactics for a Successful Website - Part 1
There are a number of techniques you can utilize in order to bring more traffic to your website. Some of these methods, however, can get you into a great deal of trouble with the search engines because they are considered to be sneaky, underhanded, and even down-right fraudulent. These techniques are often referred to as Black Hat SEO techniques.
One of the most common Black Hat SEO techniques is cloaking, also referred to as redirects. With this technique, you create one page for the search engines to discover, but you show a different one to the visitor. In order to accomplish this, the site visitor reaches one page and then receives a message that he or she will be redirected to a new site. This new site is the one you really hope to draw traffic to. This Black Hat SEO tactic works because it actually tricks the search engine into thinking the site is something other than what it really is.
