Expert Website Design Enabled Cheap Flight's Websites To Expand

"Our main objective was to provide British consumers with the opportunity to compare flight prices from a huge range of companies," explains David Soskin, CEO of Cheapflights.

"Looking around, we discovered that other travel Websites were very difficult to use, comparatively slow. So we tackled this problem by getting a team of top website designers together. We also made sure they designed the site in such a way that is was search engine friendly.

Once the site was launched we had SEO experts. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. This would make sure that after sometime we would get indexed in the search engines for such keywords as cheap flights, cheap flights to spain and many more.

By 2000 Cheapflights.co.uk had 70 companies displaying flight deals on its website, and the number of deals on the site reached 20,000. Now, in 2004, it works with 500 travel companies, from big hitters like British Airways to smaller outfits such as Gays Abroad, and shows 750,000 deals on its site in the UK alone. As a result of this huge expansion, plus the fact that the company has added portals for hotel deals (www.cheapaccomodation.com) and package holiday (www.cheapholidays.co.uk), the number of unique visitors to the site has now risen to just under 2,000,01 per month.

These new portals all had to be designed by website developers to be user friendly. The website designers had a large challenge in front of them, but they managed to overcome it and produced these two extra user friendly, search engine optimised websites.
